at the Rose
The women's ministries at Redwood Gospel MiSSion have opportunities for women with all kinds of gifts, talents, skills and experience. If you have raised daughters or granddaughters, you know how many different skills they need to know or learn before living successfully on their own. Here are some opportunities to serve women in the homeless shelter:
Bible study leaders (Evenings 7 pm to 8 pm)
"House Mom":
Help ladies get-up, help with breakfast and getting chores done in the morning.
(Start time 6 am to 7:30 am)
"Sister-to-Slster":
Volunteers to spend time with guests one-on·one in the evening; Mentoring or giving support by listening and caring.
(Evenings after 6 pm)
Job search assistance:
Helping women with online applications, writing resumes, helping with interview preparation, advice for proper attire for interviews
Forms assistance:
Helping women who have trouble or fears about fill out housing, C{1SP, MediCal, or Social Security forms
Transportation:
To church, doctor's appointments and staying with them for bringing them back from appointments (some have fears of going to a doctor by themselves)
Taking ladies to Social Security, MediCal, or Housing Authority
Leading classes in Money management, Health & Nutrition, Recovery
We are looking for women to pledge themselves to a minimum of one day or one shift each month Call or email Sandra if you have questions, 573-0490.
